The Arts are entertainment, an educational tool, and an economic driver for Scottsdale. They contribute to our quality of place and reinforce the City’s image as a sophisticated and diverse community. The Arts are a sound investment for Scottsdale, and should be recognized and supported as such.

Economic Development is necessary to support the amenities that make Scottsdale a great place to live, work and vacation. The quality of place that makes the city attractive to its residents also makes it attractive to visitors. And small businesses grow to be large businesses and form a support network that attracts other business. Therefore, economic development strategy should focus on support of existing businesses and the improvement of things that contribute to residents’ quality of life.

Street signs are just a cheap means of shifting a campaign burden from the political candidate to the public. The Scottsdale sign ordinance should severely restrict their use.
